Description
Fallujah, Iraq November 2007. Operation Iraqi Freedom II has begun, with 160,000 U.S. troops on the ground, of which 64,000 are members of the National Guard. 11 months earlier, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, several Guardsmen agree to film their year in Iraq. 180 soldiers in Charlie Company were given the opportunity but only ten chose to take it on, volunteering to share their eyes with America, not knowing where this experiment would take them. It is Operation Iraqi Freedom as filmed by Sergeant Steve Pink, Sergeant Zack Bazzi, and Specialist Mike Moriarty, with extra footage by Sergeant Duncan Domey and Specialist Brandon Wilkins. Zack, Steve, and Mike's unit, Charlie Company, 3rd of the 172nd Infantry (MOUNTAIN) Regiment, was based at LSA Anaconda in the deadly Sunni Triangle, under constant threat of ambush and deadly IED attacks. In the end, this film is a complex, heartbreaking, and completely unique opportunity for millions to witness first-person experiences of war--a modern-day Odyssey--and the experience of homecoming.
